Business Challenge Summary
For nearly 50 years, Starlite has been earning the kind of trust that doesn’t come from a campaign. The family-owned audiovisual and lighting company based in Moorestown, NJ grew through loyal clients, strong reviews, repeat business, and facility stocked with one of the largest AV inventories on the East Coast. Schools, theaters, museums, houses of worship, stadiums, and corporate venues had been relying on Starlite for years, largely because of the quality of the work and the relationships behind it.
When &Marketing began working with Starlite in 2022, the business was strong, but the marketing foundation was missing. In a crowded AV and lighting market where differentiation was increasingly necessary and customers were increasingly starting their search online, Starlite’s brand presence didn’t reflect the depth of what the company actually delivered. There was no clear positioning, messaging varied, and audiences hadn’t been defined. The website also wasn’t built to attract or convert the right buyers, and there was little infrastructure in place for measuring whether any marketing effort was producing results.
&Marketing’s Approach
&Marketing started with the diagnosis before anything else. We assessed Starlite’s competitive landscape, website, SEO visibility, social presence, and audience positioning to understand where the company had real advantages and where the gaps were costing them. The AV and lighting space, we found, was full of competitors offering similar services to similar customer segments. Starlite’s reputation, selectivity, and customer relationships were genuine differentiators that needed to be communicated more frequently and clearly. From there, we built the foundation:
Positioning and messaging. We developed a brand position centered on what actually made Starlite different: a boutique, selective approach, deep technical expertise, genuine long-term customer relationships, and decades of handling complex AV and lighting projects with precision and care. The messaging moved away from generic service descriptions toward something that reflected how clients actually experienced working with Starlite.
Audience definition. We identified and built out specific buyer profiles, from event coordinators at museums and cultural institutions to technology directors at schools who need AV support without the overhead of managing it themselves. Each had different pressures and decision triggers, and the strategy gave Starlite a clearer way to speak to all of them.
Content and organic strategy. With positioning in place, we built an ongoing content program around the search terms Starlite’s buyers were actually using. We incorporated strong SEO and targeted messaging, which empowered the content to steadily build organic authority in categories that mapped directly to their s core services.
Paid media. We helped design and manage Google Ads campaigns with a clear focus on generating qualified leads. Our ads expert constantly monitored performance and ROI and adjusted accordingly to maximize conversions that led to real revenue from products and services that were worth Starlite’s investment.
Reporting infrastructure. We established monthly performance reporting and quarterly business reviews that tied marketing activity to revenue outcomes. For the first time, Starlite had a clear view of which channels were driving results and could make decisions based on evidence.
Throughout all of it, &Marketing’s role was to own the strategic direction — making sure every initiative pointed the same way and that the investment in marketing was building something, not just generating activity.
Results
By the end of 2025, year-over-year performance across digital channels had improved significantly:
- Website sessions up 87%
- Total conversions up 58%
- Sales leads up 150%
- Service leads up 86%
- Consistent lead volume of 130–140 qualified inquiries per quarter from schools, universities, theaters, cultural institutions, houses of worship, and corporate clients
Paid media efficiency improved steadily across the engagement — from a ~3x ROAS in early 2025 to ~6x by mid-year, reaching almost 12x by the end of 2025. Organic search grew 43% year-over-year, with Starlite ranking for competitive terms that mapped directly to the audiences identified in the original strategy work.
Beyond the channel metrics, Starlite gained a real marketing system: clear positioning, defined audiences, differentiated messaging, a content program with a track record, a paid media approach that produced qualified leads at a known efficiency, and reporting that connected marketing investment to revenue.
Starlite already had decades of earned credibility. &Marketing helped build the marketing foundation to match it.
