Kelsey Hare

Kelsey has twenty years of competitive intelligence and strategy planning project leadership experience. Her business expertise includes perceiving business issues, designing frameworks, developing and delivering insights, implications and recommendations to influence strategic decision and choice for business leaders to deliver sustainable results. She has been recognized for building and leading high performing, collaborative teams and cross-functional networks to anticipate and support business and executive needs.

Prior to becoming a consultant in 2015, Kelsey served as the senior manager of competitive intelligence at Pioneer, a DuPont business; now Corteva. She was responsible for determining competitor strategies and environmental shifts and providing conclusions and implications as input into the strategy development process. Within three years of joining Pioneer, Kelsey’s team received recognition by DuPont CEO as being one of DuPont’s top Competitive Intelligence functions. The Pioneer competitive intelligence model that Kelsey and her team developed was leveraged across DuPont globally to enhance competitive intelligence capabilities.

Kelsey began her career in competitive intelligence in 2001 at the Principal Financial Group where she was a market intelligence manager. At The Principal, she managed strategic market intelligence projects and spearheaded the development and implementation of a second-generation knowledge-sharing application for competitive and environmental information.

Kelsey has been published and has spoken on the topic of using technology to support competitive intelligence processes, as well as several analytic techniques and case studies involving war gaming and other competitive analysis tools. Kelsey has previous experience in database management, market share analysis, ad tracking, vendor/client management, and target market analysis. Kelsey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Merchandising, Production, and Design from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

She served on the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) Board of Directors from 2008-2010, and co-founder and former coordinator of the Iowa SCIP chapter. Kelsey is also a former member of the Iowa American Marketing Association Board of Directors. Kelsey lives in rural Iowa with her husband and three children.
